EP005-MORGAN PEARSON | Rookie Elite Triathlete Who's Already Winning Big Races.
💥On this episode, I talk with up-and-coming elite triathlete Morgan Pearson.
💥Morgan shocked the triathlon world last year when he won the USA Triathlon Age Group Sprint National Championships in Omaha, Nebraska – his first national triathlon. CRAZY, RIGHT?!! Age Group Nationals, is the most competitive short-distance triathlon among elite amateur triathletes in the country.
💥 But Morgan is no strange to sports. He had an amazing running career in high school and college. For instance, he was a New Jersey state champion in the 3200 mts . He earned all-American honors in the outdoor 2-mile run and also won the Penn Relays 3000 mts, among others
💥 Morgan was also member of the club swim team and an ocean rescue life guard. So yeah, he has a strong swimming background.
💥 We also talked about how he transitioned from running to triathlon, the people who advised him to go for it and who’s coaching him these days.
💥 Morgan’s first race of 2018 was also his first ITU race in Moloolaba, Australia. ITU races are where the best of the best in the triathlon short distance compete. Not only in the US, but in THE WORLD! (I’m talking Olympians and world champions). He finished 7th. Not bad, huh?
💥He also talks about his racing and training plans for the year and his most ambitious goal to date: qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.
